Funny but true story…the first day I met Shiloh, the owner of We Drink Bubbles, I joked with her about curating a subscription box.  Fast forward 6 months and here we are!  Natalie Borton and I have become fast friends with Shiloh, and we love supporting her business by enjoying and sharing her monthly shipments. 

Nat, Shiloh and I spent one morning (on my birthday coincidentally – hehe) in my kitchen tasting 5 different bottles of bubbles to decide which ones would make the cut. 

Since moving to California 14 years ago, I’ve learned quite a bit about wine but never realized the bubbly world was just as complex.  I gained so much new knowledge in our time with Shiloh and I can’t wait to share it with you! 

Here are just three new things I learned:

  2. Foods that pair well (and you might be as surprised as I was)
  3. The different between Cava + Prosecco + Champagne

If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you know I LOVE food and I love spending time in my kitchen.  One of the things I was most surprised to learn in our bubbles tasting, was the type of foods that pair well with bubbles.  In particular, we discussed champage and burgers.  Of course I had to test Shiloh’s advice and report back.   Hubs and I enjoyed a bottle of champage from our June shipment and I whipped up this dinner.

We were both SHOCKED at how well the champagne paired with the burger and how much we enjoyed it. I’ve always subscribed to the idea that red wine = steak/burgers…but boy was I wrong.
